Hilary Lavi ( Baron) – made aliya from Bulawayo, former Rhodesia in 1973 after 5 years teaching in London. She worked 30 years as an English teacher and teacher mentor/counselor in northern Israel. She is co-author of two English text books for Elementary school. She is now semi retired. She works for Partnership 2000 English project* in “the Central Galilee” and is involved in other English educational projects. She is mother of two sons and proud grandma of Michal and Kfir.
*The English Project aims to help LD and slower pupils in improving their English skills.
“Hiking in the Ashes of the Carmel” with Hilary Lavi, recounts her participation with a group who hiked to the destination of the mega-fire on Mount Carmel. They walked through the mosaic of black, ash, gray and green areas and discoverd some patches that had been miraculously untouched by the fire.
