ESRA Modiin moves on…with a harp recital by Liraz Choloniewski, a new immigrant from France, ,book sales, launch of cinema club, a brunch in honor of 25 ESRA volunteer tutors, and more in the future.

Esra Modiin has taken off…Social and volunteer programs have been organized. Lectures, second hand bookshop, film shows, tutoring matric students in English, and distributing ESRA magazines. They hope to extend their activities to Reut, Maccabim and Hashmonaim.

Esra’s new Modiin bookshop is a smash hit

ESRA Modiin raises funds to support their afternoon center for children at risk. The secondhand bookshop brings in a good regular income, lectures and an evening held with other branches also boosted their funds. Many volunteer activities are also run with great support from the community.

In memory of Lynn Lipchin, a tribute to this volunteer of ESRA Modiin since its inception, who contributed so enthusiastically to the branch activities.

Saving small change makes a change. Jackie Klein tells about it in “Coining it in,” the story of a young family who dropped off four very large and heavy jars of coins - NIS 1580 – they had collected to donate to the Modiin center for children at risk.

The obvious success of Modiin ESRA organisers’ High Tea English celebration for the viewing of the Royal wedding of William and Kate as experienced through the notes of gratitude of participants at the charming event they attended.
