Ada Yonath – Nobel Laureate, addressed a large audience on the fascination of ribosomes, a specific group of protein cells and described her success in the formerly impossible task of preparing them for X-ray crystallogy to determine their 3-D structure. They were entranced by her descriptive illustrated talk.

Avinoam Lurie, well-known zoologist, wows the kids and grownups alike with his tales of wildlife. He shares adventures as head of the Wild Animal Protection Sector of the Nature Reserves Authority and the Hai Bar Carmel Center.

Meeting monthly in private homes in Raanana, Linda and Jennifer have created a very successful social group mainly for new immigrants. With a speaker, an ESRA representative, light refreshments and introductions all round new visitors soon become an enthusiastic part of this self help group.
